Fauci blames unfair U.S. health care system for faltering vaccination campaign
Tells Italian audience that fairer European health systems have boosted French and Italian vaccination efforts
It went unnoticed in United States media last week that Dr. Anthony Fauci told an audience of European politicians, academics, and business people at the Ambrosetti Forum that America’s dysfunctional and fragmented health care system — more like a “non-system” — deserves quite a bit of blame for the U.S. falling behind the European Union and United Kingdom on vaccinating its population.
According to Fauci, America’s vaccination campaign falling behind Europe can be explained, in part, by the the fact that “in European countries, the system of supplying health services is much more acceptable, more uniform, and fair for everyone.” He went on to say he hoped the U.S. health care system would “evolve in the direction” of European health systems.
