Schools will reopen this fall, but parents have lost trust.

There was a minor scandal in the White House briefing room yesterday as Covid Coordinator Dr. Ashish K. Jha was pulled away from the podium by Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre as he was asked whether he “[believed] all schools will and must be open this coming fall.” As Jha began to answer, Jean-Pierre grabbed his arm and insisted that “you have to go, he has to go, we’re overtime.”

When concerned parents — and political operatives — seized on the awkward moment, the White House immediately responded on social media.
