The discourse is shifting on school mask mandates and it’s no longer a fringe — or European — belief that the harms associated with masking children at school are greater than the benefits. Now is the time for our increasingly unpopular president to read the writing on the wall and stop endorsing mandatory school masking. As a center-left social democrat interested in maintaining Democratic control of the White House and Congress, I see this as a political imperative.
