Donald Trump will play this clip over and over again in 2024.
Democrats better have a response.
Today, on Twitter, New York City Schools social worker Justin Spiro shared a clip of Donald Trump speaking about learning loss and virtual instruction from July 2020.
As I noted in May 2020, Democrats were allowing Republicans — and Trump — to own the nascent school reopening issue.
Now, it is September 2022, and the check from the rich world’s longest school closures is coming due: the New York Times just reported that America’s response to the pandemic “erased two decades of progress in math and reading.”
Even progressive op-ed columnist Nicholas Kristof is now saying that some Democratic politicians “flubbed the school closure issue and harmed kids.”
